A few days ago, Skype app came to Android market and now some rumours are spreading that Amazon app might also debut on Android powered devices.
Skype app for Android
One of the most popular VoIP service, Skype app is now exclusively available on smartphones running Android OS 2.1 or later.
This Skype App is an Android mobile application developed for Android 2.1 (or higher) users. Users can make free Skype to Skype calls, instant messaging and video conferencing on their mobile phones and make low rate Skype calls to landline or mobile phones. Free Skype-to-Skype calls can be made on the move using either a Wi-Fi or mobile data connections 3G,GPRS, EDGE anywhere in the world. But currently users can make Skype calls over Wi-Fi only in the US and if you use 3G, GPRS, EDGE rather than Wi-Fi, you might end up with a rather large bill.
Skype said that Skype has been tested successfully on HTC Desire, HTC Legend, Google Nexus One, Motorola Milestone XT720, and Motorola Milestone and It may work on other Android phones. Skype facing some incompatibility issues with Samsung Galaxy S phones and it will be sorted out in future. Skype app is already available for Symbian, iOS powered smart phones, released earlier this year.

Amazon app for Android
It is being rumoured that Amazon is preparing to launch its own Android app store. According to Wall Street Journal report, they have gotten official confirmation that the Amazon Android app store is going happen in real and Amazon is already in talks with developers. The Amazon document includes a stipulation that the apps can’t be offered at a lower price anywhere else.
Developers believe that there is opportunity for Amazon to offer a more organized alternative marketplace for Android. It is still doubtable(not sure) that when exactly Amazon is planning to launch an Android app store. Anyhow, It would be beneficial if Amazon introduced this application Amazon Android app soon.
