Last week we have about the HTC-made T-Mobile G2 nearing its ‘End Of Life’ according to a leaked screenshot of T-Mobile internal document. But what we didn’t know while reporting it was that, the phone had already been discontinued officially, we’ll before we came to know that it was currently in the EOL stage. According to a new leaked screenshot of another T-Mobile document posted at TmoNews, T-Mobile G2 was officially discontinued on June 6th.
This is no surprise package with T-Mobile planning to launch its myTouch 4G Slide soon. The T-Mobile HTC G2 was known for its QWERTY-slider keyboard and of course the 4G connectivity. It featured Android 2.2 Froyo, 3.7-inch touchscree, 5MP camera, 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7230 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and more.
You may still find a device or two in the markets currently but you need to note that the stock won’t be refreshed, though we don’t think you should ever think about T-Moble G2, as some far more better and powerful devices like T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide are set to take its place. However, we’re not sure what will happen to the proposed Gingerbread update for the G2. Here’s hoping it will soon hit the G2 handsets.
And, finally, RIP G2.
