We were pretty sure that the Acer Iconia Tab A100 tablet is coming to U.S. But there is no official word yet on the release date and the price info. It looks like we are getting closer and closer to its launch date. Acer Iconia Tab A100 has appeared in Walmart’s inventory system with a price tag of $349.
A few days ago, some rumors were circulating that Acer was about to cancel the Iconia Tab A100 tablet. In fact, Google has encountered some difficulties porting the the Android 3.0 Honeycomb 7-inch tablets, and there were some compatibility issues, and Acer has also mentioned that that most of the applications aren’t compatible with its 7-inch Iconia Tab A100 tablet. The 7-inch Huawei MediaPad has been officially announced with Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, which is the same Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system that’s been optimized to run on 7″ tablets. Google has confirmed that Android 3.2 update will be rolling out in August for 7-inch tablets, and for Motorola Xoom in the coming weeks. And, the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS is up next in the line, which is expected to roll out in the last quarter of 2012.
But the display sticker is still featuring Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Specs wise, Acer Iconia Tab A100 has got a 7-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with 600 x 1024 pixels resolution, Acer UI on top of Honeycomb, powered by NVIDIA’s dual-core Tegra 2 1GHz processor and packs 512 MB RAM, an LED-flash equipped 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, video recording capabilities, an additional secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, YouTube, Google Talk, Picasa integration, Adobe Flash Player 10.3 support, accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, Gyro sensor, Android Market, all Google services, and much more.

Acer Iconia Tab A100 has recently spotted at FCC. This tablet is expected to hit the Walmart markets just in time for the Independence Day in July.
