Motorola Atrix 4G users would be glad to know that they will be getting the most-awaited Gingerbread piece of the sweet Android OS for their handsets very soon. Motorola Atrix has been on the AT&T air waves for four months, and it features many notable cool things. It’s the first mobile phone launched in the U.S., equipped with a dual-core processor inside. It turns into a laptop when you dock it into its laptop dock accessory. According to the sources, Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread build for the Motorola ATRIX 4G has been almost nailed down and it should be rolling out over-the-air by the end of the next month.
Along with the Gingerbread update, Motorola will be also bringing the new enhanced Motoblur UI for the Atrix 4G handset, including the overall performance boost. The update will bring the enhanced camera software, a revamped onscreen keyboard, smoother animation, ability to sideload apps, a few adjustments to the apps and icons with the ability to arrange program icons in groups, over-scroll glowing effect that comes on stock Android 2.3.3. Folks over BriefMobile have been testing an early build of the Gingerbread for the Atrix 4G.
Motorola has promised that it will begin to unlock the bootloaders of its phones sometime in late 2011. We are not sure yet whether or not the Gingerbread update will unlock the bootloader of the handset.
