The 9.7-inch HP TouchPad tablet will be hitting the retail shelves starting July 1st, and HP has yet to prove that its webOS powered TouchPad tablet can become a commercial success, in spite of the huge competition from Apple iPad, The TouchPad has yet to hit markets, but we are hearing the reports from Taiwan Economic News claiming that the 9.7-inch TouchPad is having a little brother. Hewlett-Packard is planning to release an unannounced 7-inch tablet in August. Source has revealed that the Taiwanese manufacturer Inventec Corp. will be producing a nearly 4,50,000 TouchPad tablets per month for HP, and Inventec will manufacture and ship 3 million tablets in this year for HP.
No hardware specifications, and price details of the unconfirmed 7-inch TouchPad, were provided by the source. We are believing that it would be having most common technical specifications as that of the big TouchPad – 1GB RAM, dual-core 1GHz chipset, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, memory storage, and etc,. In 7-inch range tablets space, we are having a nice HTC Flyer tablet, which is powered by Android Gingerbread OS, and it is currently available for sale in the U.S. Huawei has also recently announced a 7-inch MediaPad tablet, which is the world’s first Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet, and it is due out in the fall of this year. You might be aware of that the 9.7-inch HP TouchPad is available for pre-order now with the price tags of $499, and $599.
