It’s time for some fun now. Finally, Rovio and Microsoft have officially released the globally dominant Angry Birds mobile application for Windows Phones in the U.S. and global users. The software giant was supposed to release this game on May 25th, but it got delayed, and is available now. Angry Birds is one of the most popular iPhone apps and has recently been carried to Google’s Android OS. Unfortunately, Windows Phones users have to pay out $2.99 to take advantage of the Angry Birds app, where as it is available as the free ad-supported version for Android, and it’s just 99 cents for iOS platform. Anyhow, Windows Phone users can try out the free trial version of the Angry Birds, before they buy it.
The app has been described as "Angry Birds is coming to Windows Phone! The survival of the angry birds is at stake. Dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole the birds’ eggs. Use the unique destructive powers of the angry birds to lay waste to the pigs’ fortified castles. Each of the 165 levels requires logic, skill and brute force to crush the enemy."
Angry Birds for Windows Phones includes 165 levels, and Microsoft is also offering Xbox LIVE integration with the support of achievements for Xbox LIVE gamers. Rovio has launched a number of seasonal updates to Angry Birds and most recently released Angry Birds Rio (for Android). Unfortunately, the new levels update hasn’t been included in the WP7 Angry Birds game app. Let’s hope that the updated version will be available soon for the Windows Phone. BlackBerry OS is still lacking the support for the title.
