Android 2.3 Gingerbread update is soon coming to the Sprint branded 7” Samsung Galaxy Tab. It’s indeed a great news for the Samsung’s first ever 7-inch Galaxy Tab’s owners, with their tablets still running the out-dated Android 2.2 Froyo OS, and are eagerly waiting for the most awaited Gingerbread update for their tablets. Well, they have to wait for another 5 more days, as Sprint is set to roll out a software update called EF17 update on July 5th. The upcoming EF17 update will bring the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update, along with the Bluetooth HID for the Sprint connected 7” Samsung Galaxy Tab .

Owners of the Sprint Galaxy Tab devices will get notification on their screen panels about the Gingerbread OTA update. Or else you can download the Gingerbread update manually. It is pretty simple to get it. To download this OTA update, Galaxy Tab users need to move to Menu –> Settings –> About Galaxy Tab –> System Update –> Update Android –> Update Now / Restart & Install –> Reboot –> Finish downloading the update –> Done. The update will show the build number of the software as SPH-P100.EF17 after finishing the installation of Gingerbread update.
