T-Mobile G2 owners should be getting the notification alert on their handsets, asking the users to accept the update. The users can try to manually pull the update down by heading over to Menu -> Settings -> About Phone -> System Updates and hit Download button. Wait for the update to download and install on the device. Don’t forget to take a back up of your phone and microSD card before proceeding to download the the latest update.
T-Mobile has also noted that starting August 5, users will be able to go to the nearest T-Mobile retail store to update their T-Mobile G2 handsets to the latest software version. So there you have it. Pretty exciting news if you happen to own an Android powered G2 phone over T-Mobile air waves, although it’s still unclear how long some of you may have to wait for the update to hit your handsets. Don’t panic if you don’t see the notification right away as this OTA update is expected to be pushed out to all handsets over the coming weeks.

I have the G2X and got this phone for the size as well as performance. The new icons on top
are way too small.
