Android QWERTY-slider from LG has recently released on Verizon air waves under the LG Enlighten moniker and it is said to be hitting the Sprint markets as LG Optimus Slider, but we haven’t seen any announcement form the carrier. Looks like the LG Optimus Slider handset is gearing up to hit Canada based wireless carrier, Virgin Mobile very soon. The big box retailer, Best Buy website has updated a webpage specially for Virgin Mobile’s Optimus Slider and placed it as “Coming Soon,” attaching $199.99 price tag to it and users can buy it without signing any contract agreement. But, the retailer has failed to provide the exact release date of the LG Optimus Slider handset for Virgin Mobile.
This is a good sign for Virgin Mobile customers, who are looking for a QWERTY sliding entry-level Android phone that comes cheap and more over, they can get it for just a no-contract $199.99 price tag, while Verizon is selling the LG Enlighten for $79.99 on a two-year contract. The slide-out QWERTY-enabled Android is powered by the latest Android OS, v2.3 Gingerbread.
