The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the only Android device that runs Android 4.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich at this time, but if you own a Sony Ericsson Xperia handset of 2011 release and are eagerly waiting for an upgrade to Android 4.0 ICS for your device, the manufacturer is offering up some exciting details. In fact, there was an official announcement from Sony Ericsson regarding Android ICS update for its entire Xperia 2011 lineup, but information about actual roll out dates haven’t been provided by the manufacturer. Now, the company on its blog post, posted the official roll out dates Android’s latest and greatest version doe Xperia handsets.
Sony Ericsson listed eight devices total that will all be getting the Android Ice cream Sandwich refreshment. The timeline of the update roll out will begin from the end of March to the beginning of May 2012. Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray are first set of the handsets to get ICS in March/April with Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman, Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active handsets’ ICS update to follow in April/May.
Just a week ago, Sony Ericsson has released Android 4.0 ICS Alpha ROMs for the Xperia arc s, Xperia neo v and Xperia ray handsets. Manufacturers like Samsung, Motorola and HTC are also prepping to bring ICS update for some of their devices.
