This week was indeed great for Windows Phone fans or at least for Nokia fanatics. Earlier this week, at CES 2012 expo, Nokia has introduced its next flagship Nokia Lumia 900 handset The Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone is set to beat united States through AT&T network in the coming months. Nokia is currently selling the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 handset all over the world. Since a few days ago, T-Mobile has also started offering Nokia Lumia 710 handset for its users. I wanted to see how do these both handsets stack up against the highly anticipated brand new Nokia Lumia 900 device, take a look at their differences, so that you can point out things that you like and don’t like about them.
Operating System
Each of the Nokia Lumia 900, Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 is running Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS, which brings Visual Voicemail, Internet Sharing, The Task Switcher, Multi Tasking, Improved Bing Search, Twitter Integration, IE9 based browser, Turn-by-Turn Bing Maps Navigation with Voice Guidance, Facebook Chat, Windows Marketplace, Threads, Linked inboxes, Local Scout, Battery Saver, Revamped Games Hub, Skydrive, Office 365 documents synchronization with PDF support and much more.
Design and Display
Both the Nokia Lumia 900 and Lumia 800 handset are sharing the same design, except a couple of changes. All of the Nokia Lumia 900, Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 handsets are having different sized displays. Nokia Lumia 900 has got a bigger 4.3-inch Clear Black display, which is pretty much the standard size, while the Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 phone are having the same sized 3.7-inch displays.
Nokia Lumia 900 packs the same gorgeous polycarbonate case as the Nokia Lumia 800 and N9 MeeGo phones.
Processor
Every top-shelf product is coming with a dual-core processor nowadays. But, all these three handsets are coming with single-core processors, performing very similar to one another. Nokia Lumia 900 comes with 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8055 single-core processor, while both the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 handsets are housing Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 single-core processors.
Camera
Nokia Lumia 800 has got 8MP rear-facing camera equipped with Carl-Zeiss lens, capable of recording 720p HD videos, while the Lumia 710 is having 5MP rear-facing camera with 720p HD video recording capability. Both Lumia 800 and 710 are not having front-facing cameras.
Nokia Lumia 900 comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera with 28mm f/2.2 wide angle lens, as well as a front-facing 1MP camera with f/2.4 wide angled lens with video recording capability.
Memory and Storage
Each of these three handsets comes 512MB RAM. Both the Nokia Lumia 900 and 800 have got 16GB internal memory storage, while the Nokia Lumia 710 comes with 8GB on-board storage.
Network Support
Nokia Lumia 900 is having 4G LTE connectivity, which is compatible with AT&T network. Both the Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 handsets are having 3G connectivity only.

Nokia Lumia 800 handset is also finally heading to the U.S., but there’s no carrier support. You’ll be buying unlocked variant of the Lumia 800 handset at Microsoft’s stores.
So, the verdict is that Nokia Lumia 900 beats both the Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 handsets with its bigger display, 4G LTE connectivity, powerful battery, wide-angled cameras, as well as the exclusive contents including Univision app, ESPN Sports Hub, CNN App for Windows Phone and AT&T U-verse Mobile apps.
However, the specs alone are no longer enough incentive to purchase one of these handsets. The real concern that should be focused right now is whether Windows Phone is a viable competitor?
