We just got some details on another brand new Sony handset, which could be a part of the company’s Mobile World Congress 2012 announcements alongside Sony ST25i Kumquat, Sony LT22i Nypon handsets. We’ve been hearing the reports that Sony is prepping a follow-up to the Xperia Arc handset, called the Sony Xperia Arc HD. An announced brand new Sony handset is featured in the official trailer of the Resident Evil: Retribution movie and it looks a lot like the SE Xperia Arc. Well, why would they feature yesteryear’s phone in an upcoming movie? So this could be the long rumored Sony Xperia Arc HD handset. And yeah, you can also see ‘Sony’ logo on the top side of the handset.
Previously, Nozomi was supposed to be the Xperia Arc HD, but at CES event, Sony has launched the long rumored Nozomi as Sony Xperia S phone. Through the leaked images, we learnt that both the upcoming Sony Nypon ad Sony Kumquat phones are sporting an illuminated strip line at the bottom of the front sides. So this mysterious handset spotted in the trailer, should fall under Xperia Arc family. As par with recent Xperia phones’ specifications, Xperia Arc HD is expected to feature a 4.2-inch 720p Sony Bravia display, 12 megapixel camera on the rear, another camera up front for video chat and a dual-core processor (ST-Ericsson NovaThor?).
You will see Sony’s product placement for a few moments in this trailer, including Sony Play Station Vita, Sony Portable Media Player and Sony Tablet S.
