It has been couple of weeks since the Android 4.0. Ice cream Sandwich OS has started pushing out for the Asus Transformer Prime and recently, Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi version has also upgraded to the latest iteration of the Android OS. The only question now is, when will we see the Android ICS update for the OG Asus Transformer tablet as well? We got our answer. The manufacturer has officially announced that it will start seeding the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS update for Asus Transformer tablet, beginning next month. Yes, the update is scheduled for mid-February. The news came from Asus North America a response to a curt question on Facebook and the statement just says, “You should be receiving your update in mid-February.” According to the reports, North America and Taiwan based Asus Transformer tablets will first get Ice Cream Sandwich update.
In fact, based on the open-source code for Ice Cream Sandwich, an unofficial Android ICS ROM has already leaked online for the OG Transformer tablet. But, there are a lot of risks involved in porting that unofficial ROM on your tablet. Moreover, the leaked Android ICS ROM build is very early indeed, lacking most of the important features.
Now it has been officially confirmed that the official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for the OG Transformer tablet is set to roll out next month, it would be better if you wait for the official release.
