Surprise, surprise! Motorola has officially introduced the new Motorola RAZR Developer Edition, which allows the manufacturer to continue meeting the carrier and regulatory obligations, but also meets the needs being expressed by our developer community. The big news is that the DE (Developer Edition) of the Motorola RAZR handset comes with unlockable bootloader out of the box.
Moto has also confirmed that the Developer Edition is also heading to the U.S. in the coming months. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the the U.S. version will be joining the Verizon’s line-up in addition to Motorola Droid RAZR with LTE radio under the hood. As the European version comes with GSM connectivity, we might very well be looking at the GSM version of the unlockable Motorola RAZR DE for the U.S.
Motorola RAZR Developer Edition sports the same specifications and internal hardware as the original Motorola RAZR handset with impossibly thin profile, including a 4.3-inch qHD display with 960 X 540 pixels of resolution, dual-core chipset, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video recording capability, an additional front-facing camera, 16GB eMMC, microSD card slot for memory expansion slot up to 32GB and much more.

We are not sure if this U.S. version is specifically going to be Verizon branded equipped with Verizon LTE radio or not. According to the wording on the following doc, Motorola is accepting pre-orders from European customers for the Motorola RAZR DE on MotoShop website. Now we’re just left wondering why the manufacturer pulled page from its official website. It looks like the manufacturer has posted the following doc a little prematurely and pre-order page is still in works with model number . There is no word the release date and the price info of the latest product.
