About 7 months ago, Sprint branded Samsung Epic 2 handset showed up on a list of handsets that rumored to be headed to the Now Network. Samsung Epic 2 handset is believed to be the successor if the Samsung Epic 4G handset, but the carrier couldn’t manage to release it in last year.Surprisingly, Samsung Epic 2 handset now popped up in Cellebrite System, showing off its model number SPH-D705. So, now we have this reason to prove that the Samsung epic 2 still exists and is coming to Sprint.
Following the tradition of its predecessor Samsung Epic 4G handset, Samsung Epic 2 handset should be equipped with a QWERTY keyboard.
According to the previous rumors, Samsung Epic 2 handset was said to be featuring a 1.2GHz single-core processor, 4 inch qHD display, an 8 megapixel primary camera, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n. It is sounding like an entry-level spec’d device and it could cost about an affordable price tag of $100 on contract with the carrier. As the Samsung Epic 2 handset featured on Cellebrite systems, a launch always follows close behind and the dummy units should be headed to Sprint stores very soon. Unfortunately until we get confirmation, we’ve keep waiting to hear official word on this from Sprint.
Here is the leaked image of an handset, that was posted back in August 2011 by PocketNow and it reportedly looks like Samsung Epic 2 handset. But, the source is now claiming that the handset pictured in the below image is Samsung R920 for MetroPCS.
