Here it is. Finally, Samsung has launched its support page for the AT&T branded Samsung Infuse 4G SGH-I997 handset’s Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS upgrade instructions. Yesterday, we reported about the Gingerbread update availability for the Samsung Infuse 4G handset, but the support page was not working till a few hours ago. But, everything is fine now. The support is running live now.
The update brings copy and paste functionality, a redesigned keyboard, improved power management, a download manager and new widgets, notification Shade for “Flight Mode”, new Fonts options added include Choco Cooky, Cool Jazz, Rosemary.

Samsung Infuse 4G owners should remember that the update is not being pushed over-the-air and you need to download and install the latest version of Samsung’s Kies Mini on your Windows PC machine.
- Follow the instructions provided here at below to upgrade your Samsung Infuse 4G handset to Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS:
# Download Kies Mini Tool (hit the link).
# Install the downloaded Kies Mini tool on your Windows running PC machine by following the on-screen instructions.
# Connect your Samsung Infuse 4G handset to PC using USB cable.
# Select the USB mode by touching Kies (Firmware Update) button.
# Launch Kies Mini tool and the tool should automatically notify the update for the handset.
# Clock on Phone Upgrade button and let it finish the downloading and upgrading process.
# That’s it. Let it to do its task till the upgrade process finishes successfully and reboots the device.
# The new software version should be shown as Android 2.3 Gingerbread with new build number I997UCKL2.

i tried this and it says mine is unregistered device -_-
I was having the “unregistered device” issue. I talked to a Samsung rep and they said that Win7 64 bit isn’t supported, and you have to use a 32 bit OS. A little archaic of them. I haven’t tried that yet. Anyone report success with 32 bit v. 64 bit?
i tried it twice but my phone idle screen is not displayed after upgrading. it keeps showing att rethink possible page.
