Another update for a couple of more Verizon devices. Verizon is already rolling out Android 3.2.6 HLK75H update for its LTE based Motorola Xoom tablet. Now, the carrier has also geared up to release another update for the sequel of the Motorola Xoom device. Now, both the Motorola Droid XYBOARD 10.1 and Droid XYBOARD 8.2 devices are both in line to grab the new firmware upgrade. The update will bring the new build numbers 1.6.0M_279-MZ617 and 1.6.0M_279-MZ609 for Droid Xyboard 10.1 for Droid Xyboard 10.1 and Droid Xyboard 8.2 tablets respectively. The changelog of the both updates for both tablets is same. Here is the changelog of the update 1.6.0M_279-MZ617 or 1.6.0M_279-MZ609 for Droid Xyboard devices, except a change:

So, the update is bringing Global Roaming capability for both tablets. Verizon has also assured us that within 2 weeks, a second update will be rolled out that updates the SIM card, to make it ready for global travels with coverage in 205 countries, and more than 150 of those with 3G speeds.

According to the reports, these updates should be hitting Motorola Droid XYABORD 10.1/8.2 devices today and you will be notified on the home screen of your device that an OTA device is available, asking you to hit Install Now button to finish the 83.8MB sized update. You can also try to force the OTA update(11.7.279 for Xyboard 10.1 and 12.7.279 for Xyboard 8.2) by hitting Settings button–> About Tablet –> System Updates –> If you found the update –> and hit Install Now button –> the device Reboots automatically –> Installation Process begins –> Let it do its task till the upgrade process finishes successfully.Hit Settings > About phone > System updates to see if it’s available on your device.
