Bell’s Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0.2 ICS ICL53F Update

Own a Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Bell Canada network? Then, we’ve news for you. Google has officially rolled out the Android 4.0.2 Ice Cream Sandwich OS for the Verizon branded Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE handsets in the U.S. and the international variants of the GSM capable Galaxy Nexus handsets. According to Android Central, Canada based Bell’s version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus handsets are able to to grab the OTA update of the Android 4.0.2 Ice Cream Sandwich build with new build number ICL53F. Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus has also upgraded to official Android 4.0.4 ICS build IMM30B and according to a leaked roadmap by a French carrier SFR, Android 4.0.5 Ice Cream Sandwich OS will be rolled out for the Samsung Galaxy nexus, Nexus S handsets very soon.

Based on the change log of the Android 4.0.2 ICS update for Verizon’s version of the GNex handset, this update should bring a number of improvements, featuring improved mobile hotspot when used with VPN, louder audio in Google’s Navigation app with turn-by-turn directions for the Bell’s Galaxy Nexus handset. An OTA notification alert should notify on your handset’s screen asking you to accept the update. The update should measure 8.8MB of size only. If the update doesn’t hit your handset yet, you can head into your device’s Settings and check manually for its availability by hitting the Home –> Menu –> Settings > About Phone –> System Updates if you found any update, Choose “Restart & install” button and follow the on-screen instructions till the upgrade process finishes successfully.
