Google and Samsung have just announced the world’s first smartphone which features Google’s latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS platform, the Google Nexus S running with 1GHz Cortex A8-based Hummingbird processor, which is having a 4-inch Super AMOLED “Contour Display” with curved glass screen and dual cameras. T-Mobile will be the official carrier for the latest device. Nexus S will be launching in US via T-Mobile network carriers on December 16th and in UK on or after December 20th.
This upcoming handset features many better specifications: 5 Megapixels rear & VGA front facing cameras, 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, Near Field Communication (NFC) support and an anti-fingerprint coating on the display, 1 GHz application processor with rich 3D graphics, 512 MB of RAM and a 16GB of internal memory storage. Google is referring its latest Android Gingerbread as “fastest version of Android yet” and it will deliver “pure Google” experience.
What it is NFC – near field communication can quickly swap information between devices when they’re touched together and you can exchange things such as texts, images, URLs or other data simply by holding your phone up to various “smart tags”.
Nexus S also having a gyroscope for better gaming experience, virtual keyboard supporting multi-touch, triband HSPA connectivity with AWS support, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, integrated VoIP/SIP for Internet calling, an improved download manager and it function as Wi-Fi portable hotspot for up to six portable devices, but it doesn’t support T-Mo’s 4G type HSPA+ network.

Price & Availability
Google Nexus S can be purchased at Carphone Warehouse retailers in UK from December 20th, 2010 now for Free at £30/month with a 2-year contract from Vodafone and O2 or £35 a month from Orange or on PAYG for £429.99 + £10 minimum top up. SIM-lock Nexus S will be available for £429.99 ($668).
