That’s must be shocking and terrible bad news for Droid X2 owners. To keep you update, Verizon Wireless is set to roll out a new software update. The new firmware OTA update is a minor update weighing 34.6 MB of size and bumps the system version up to 1.3.418.MB870.Verizon.en.US from 1.3.380.MB870.Verizon.en.US.

Motorola Droid X2 owners should get notification alerts on their handsets asking them to accept the download and hit the appropriate button. If the update fails to reach your handset, you can try to pull the update manually. Verizon has also provided a handy instruction sheet for updating your device,by heading over to Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Download –> Wait for same time –> once the downloading process finished –> hit the Install Now button –> The device reboots during the upgrading process and follow the on-screen instructions if prompted to –> That’s it. Done.
Verizon advises that the update should only take about 10-20 minutes to download the 34.6MB update, that means you won’t have to wait too long to get this small handful of enhancements and fixes for your Droid X2 handset.
