MetroPCS has just launched Huawei Ascend today in US, powered by Android OS at an affordable price. Huawei Ascend is the Chinese made low-end Android smartphone equipped with Android 2.1 Eclair OS, 600 MHz processor. Huawei Ascend has already been launched by Cricket Wireless in October for $150.
Huawei Ascend features 3.5 inch HVGA auto-rotate LCD capacitive touchscreen(320×480 pixels), 3.2 Megapixels camera with auto focus & QIF video recording capability, virtual Qwerty, trackball, 265 MB RAM & 512 MB ROM, 3G, Wi-Fi, EVDO, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS, micro USB and microSD memory expansion to 16GB. No word the company on Froyo upgrades for this device.
