There’s some good news for anyone anticipating the release of Samsung’s new smartphone over the AT&T network in the States. A device going by the name of the Samsung SGH-I547 just made its way past the testing halls and has been approved by the FCC, featuring AT&T compatible 3G bands, 4G LTE connectivity, primary voice. The device is also boasting Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, along with NFC capabilities.
It seems the Samsung SGH-I547 is heading to AT&T as a mid-range spec’d handset and it should feature a WVGA touchscreen, microSD card slot for memory expansion support and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 is expected to power the device under the hood. There’s no word on the release date yet. FCC filling doesn’t necessarily mean a launch is imminent for this device. We also hope that an impending launch is coming near. Samsung is also looking to announce Galaxy Stellar for Verizon and two new WVGA Samsung Android phones for Sprint: Samsung Reverb (SPH-M950) and SPH-L300.
We also heard that Samsung will officially announce the Galaxy Note 2 at an event, which is scheduled for August 15th.
