During its Unpacked event in Berlin, the Korean manufacturer has officially announced its first ever Windows Phone 8 device called Samsung ATIV S, alongside the Galaxy Note II phablet’s announcement. Samsung ATIV S packs some really impressive specs.
First of all we’ve got the first Windows Phone 8 OS powered Samsung device powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Krait processor clocked at 1.5GHz, a huge 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash to record 1080p HD videos and there is a 1.9-megapixel front-facing shooter to make video chats over Skype or any other VoIP apps. Of course, there is a microSD card slot on this Windows Phone for further memory expansion support up to 32GB, while the device will ship with either 16GB or 32GB built-in memory storage capacity.
The rest of the specs are including are 42Mbps HSPA+ connectivity, NFC for file sharing or making payments, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, micro USB 2.0 and 2300mAh battery to spin the wheels under the hood.

No word on Samsung ATIV S handset’s pricing and launch date information, but it is expected to hit the markets immediately after Microsoft releases the Windows Phone 8 OS.
