Acer Iconia Tab A110 Hits U.S. and Canada for $229 on October 30th; Features Jelly Bean OS, Quad-Core CPU

Acer Iconia Tab A110

Acer has announced the U.S. availability of the first Nexus 7 competitor, the Acer Iconia Tab A110 tablet. It will be available in the U.S. for $229 from October 30th. Canadians also start buying the tablet on the same day for the same price tag. Acer has first announced the Iconia Tab A110 in late September.  It is featuring many of the same features of the Nexus 7 and it will also boot Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out the box.

Here’s the list of the specs of the Acer Iconia Tab A110:

# 7-inch WSVGA touchscreen with 1024 x 600p resolution (Nexus 7 has 1280×800 screen)
# 1.2Ghz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor
# 1GB RAM
# Front-facing 2 megapixel HD webcam
# micro USB 2.0, Bluetooth 3.0
# 8GB onboard storage
# microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB (Nexus 7 lacks this feature)
# micro HDMI (also missing from Nexus 7)

So, Acer Iconia Tab A110 could be head-to-head competitor to Nexus 7, where it wins in microSD card slot and microHDMI port areas and it costs $30 more than N7. But, Google is also gearing up to launch the 32GB Nexus 7 edition for the same price tag of the 16GB N7 edition.
