A few days ago, HTC has announced a massive 5-inch J Butterfly handset, exclusively for Japan and it was also supposed to launch in the U.S. We’ve been taking about the “HTC DLX” or “HTC 5” for months now, which is supposedly heading for Verizon for months now. The phone, which packs a 5-inch 1080p display and a quad-core processor, is still not confirmed to arrive on Verizon network. The HTC DLX for Verizon has shown up in leaked images today. Thanks to Android central for providing us the first clear look of the handset. It looks like the DLX is made of a solid polycarbonate shell and it looks a lot like the HTC One X handset.
According to the previous rumors and leaks, the HTC DLX is expected to have a 5-inch Super LCD 2 Full HD display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 8 megapixel camera on back and 2MP camera on front. Previous rumors suggested 12MP camera for this beast. You can also see the dark red marking on the rear camera housing and according to the tipster, there’s a new placement for the power button – centered on the top bezel and it will ship with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS with HTC Sense 4+ UI sits on top of it, full connectivity suite and it will be served by Big Red network’s 4G LTE bands.
As you can see in the below image, the HTC DLX is featuring quad-core processor, 2GB memory, 5-inch display of 1080p resolution, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. As always, we suggest you to take these alleged images with a grain of salt.
At this point, we can assume that the HTC DLX will be made official very soon, so that it can be ready for the holiday shopping season. If you are a Verizon customer and looking forward to HTC DLX, stay tuned to Gadgetian for more information.
