Microsoft strategic partner, the Finnish mobile company has officially unveiled its new entry-level spec’d and most affordable Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 510. With its lowest price point and decent specs, this handset will give all the entry-level Android phones a really hard time. Keeping up the tradition of the Lumia line-up, the new Lumia 510 also comes in the red, yellow, cyan, white and black colored editions.
With its 4-inch WVGA screen, the Nokia Lumia 510 dominates yesteryear’s Lumia 610 handset, which has got 3.7-inch touchscreen display. Here’s the full list of the features of the new Lumia 510:
# Ships with Windows Phone 7.5 OS, but it will be upgradeable to Windows Phone 7.8 build as soon as it is ready
# 4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 480 X 800 pixels of resolution
# Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 single-core processor clocked at 800MHz
# 5 megapixel camera on rear side with auto focus and VGA recording capability (same ad Lumia 610)
# 4GB internal storage, which is non-expandable. So, there’s no microSD card (big disappointment)
# Suport for 7GB Skydrive cloud storage
# Wi-Fi b/g/n, micro USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm audio jack
# 1300mAh battery provides up to 8.4 hours talk time, and up to 38 hours of music playback time
# Preinstalled apps including Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive, MS Office, Xbox Live Games
It’s worth noting that Lumia 510’s camera has got an f/2.4 aperture and wide angle 28mm focal length and users can take advantage of an exclusive app called Nokia Camera Extras, which brings “new life to pictures.” The phone is lacking NFC lacking, but we believe Nokia will announce the NFC capable Lumia 510 in the near future.
Nokia is expected to offer the Lumia 510 for just $199 (that’s before taxes) and it will begin hitting the markets in November, covering India, China, closely followed by Asia-Pacific and South America regions.
