We heard that the AT&T edition of the Lumia 920 won’t have AWS bands. If you are still hesitating about picking up an unlocked international version of Lumia 920 to run on T-Mobile, this new set of images will keep away your concerns.
AWS band is a wireless telecommunications spectrum band used for mobile voice and data services, video, and messaging. The Lumia 920 on AT&T will not be featuring AWS bands due to a device breakdown courtesy of the FCC but international models of the Nokia Lumia 920 will have AWS bands which will enable you to run the device on the T-Mobile’s 1700MHz AWS spectrum.
Recently, WPCentral reported that an unlocked developer edition of the 920 is running on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network. After purchasing the developer unlocked device online, forum user managed to get the Lumia 920 functioning on T-Mobile’s US network using around 1700MHz band and even posted some screenshots of speed tests as verifiable proof. The tests certainly used T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network and running with strong download speeds. Moreover TmoNews yesterday showed some of their shots with better looking speeds reporting that the Lumia 920 runs quite well on T-Mobile’s network.\
