The Finnish mobile maker has updated its Nokia Transport app (also known as Nokia Transit in North America) for Windows Phone 8 platform. Nokia has also released the beta versions of the app for Windows Phone 7 and Symbian powered handsets. Nokia Transport app for WP8 has been updated to the new version v3.0 with a revamped interface, while the Nokia Transport beta v3.1 brings new features and user interface improvements for Windows Phone 7.
The users can take advantage of the more intuitive interface, with a more detailed map view for each part of your route with a single tap or swipe. The app now lets you to pin your favorite destinations to the Start screen on your handset, lets you to plan journeys well in advance with more options how departure time is displayed. It will provide directions to the exact location you planned to visit, walking directions to the station you need to go. The updated app also brings easier journey histories to access locations you already visited and you can also delete some of those entries if you want to.
Beta version (v2.5) for Symbian brings a better search function with better user experience and users will now be able to to get coverage update over the air.
