Early this month, the LG Optimus G handset has recently releases in the U.S. on AT&T and Sprint networks and the rumor mill has already picked up around the launch of the sequel of this handset and its technical specifications. A latest rumor claimed by Korean publication shows that LG is going to release Optimus G2 handset next year. According to the source, the successor of the Optimus G will release at the same time with the Samsung Galaxy S IV handset.
If this rumor proves to be true then you can expect the Optimus G2 to be a real beast, as it is having some mouth-watering specifications. Remember it is the era of the quad-core phones with 1080p display. It is rumored to ship with 5-inch 1920x1080p Full HD LCD panel (just like the HTC DROID DNA) with 440ppi pixel density, made by LG Display, and there will be a 2 GHz Snapdragon Prime quad-core processor with a 3rd generation LTE radio on the chip for delivering great performance levels and there will be less battery consumption. It will be having a camera on back side with backlight prevention technology. Hopefully, we will see an improved camera than 13MP camera of the Optimus G handset and that would be a great boost for the upcoming LG flagship by offering a better imaging experience than its predecessor.
And now, last but not least, the Optimus G2 will come pre-installed with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie OS out of the box. No word on the exact time frame for its launch, but we guess it will hit the stores in May next year, and it is going to be one of the most anticipated dates for the smartphone world. Hopefully, LG will showcase it at Mobile World Congress in February next year in Barcelona, with a global release date set for March month.
Anyhow, we are waiting for LGs’ response leak. until then, we’ll take this info with a grain of salt and will update more details as soon as we get them.
