Back in early-December of 2012, we started hearing about the docking accessory for the most popular Asus-made Google Nexus 7 tablet. But, we’ haven’t heard anything about an official docking station for Nexus 7 from Asus or Google. A guy from Japan has already grabbed it and show it on a video, and some previous sources predicted December 30th as launch date of the dock for Nexus 7.
From December 20th, the official docking station for the Nexus 7 has been available for pre-order on B&H website for $39.99, but the expected shipping date wasn’t listed by the online retailer. Today we’ve a good news for those who are eagerly looking for it. B&H Photo website has updated the product webpage, saying pre-orders docking stations are back in stock and they should be getting it delivered starting from January 10. ExcaliberPC also confirmed January 6th as ETA for the docking station accessory. That means, official Nexus 7 dock release date is set between January 6th to January 10th in Europe. The 6th of January is the day that CES 2013 show beginning officially.
The dock works with the Nexus 7 tablet’s four POGO pins (located on the bottom left side) and it holds the tablet in landscape mode for convenient using. There’s a 3.5mm audio-out port, as well as microSUB 2.0 port on the dock, which helps charging the Nexus 7, and you can also connect it to a set of speakers.
