In December last year, from a leaked ROM, SamMobile claimed that Samsung is preparing to debut their upcoming device, the Galaxy Pocket Plus in Europe and the device will have a model number, GT-S5301.
There is a new word from the same source that the South-Korean mobile manufacturer is preparing to introduce the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus handset in the first half of 2013 in the market. The device will also be available in Latin America under codename GT-S5301L
Although there is no official information about the technical specifications of the device, you can expect that the device will come with a 2.8-inch 240 x 320 touchscreen display, a 2MP camera, an 850 MHz Broadcom processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, Quad-band GSM, HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS support, and a 1200mAh battery.
You can compare the above specification with the Galaxy Pocket. The older generation Pocket is powered by an 832MHz single-core processor, equipped with a rear-facing 2MP camera, 3GB of internal storage with memory expansion up to 32GB, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi etc.
The upcoming device will be running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and it will use a new touch-wiz interface. But this touch-wiz interface has been downgraded because of lower specs and screen size of the device. We’ll keep you updated on any official confirmation and new reports.
