If you have Samsung Galaxy S III handset on AT&T in the United States, and hasn’t yet upgraded to Jelly bean build, it’s time to hit the “check updates” button, because an update to the latest version of Android OS is on its way. If you are wondering, Samsung has already pushed out Jelly Bean updates for AT&T, T-Mobile, and other carrier specific editions in the United States. Until now, AT&T users were able to the pull the Jelly Bean update using Samsung’s Kies program only. Engadget reports that AT&T has again started pushing out the OTA (Over-The-Air) Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the AT&T connected Galaxy S III handset.
Jelly Bean build brings a handful of new features, enhancements and improvements, including Google Now, Project Butter, improved text input, better Javascript performance, improved accessibility with new gestures, automatically resizable widgets, improved Wi-Fi connectivity, improvements for Camera, Android Beam and more.
AT&T has yet confirm about the OTA rollout of the Jelly Bean for its GSIII handset. The source notes that the AT&T Galaxy S III should be able to be operating on a Wi-Fi connection in order pull the OTA update from the sky. The update should be available right now and will complete its rollout in the coming days. To see if the update is available on your device, head into Settings > Software Update and don’t forget to connect to a proper Wi-Fi connection. Otherwise, you’ll be notified when it hits your device.
