The first purported press shot of the upcoming Huawei Ascend P2 handset hit online. Thanks to Twitter leak start, @evleaks, and Unwiredview. Ascend P2 is an Android phone, which was recently confirmed to be launching at MWC 2013 trade show next month in Barcelona. The smartphone leaked for the first time on last Monday, January 14th.
Specs wise, the Huawei Ascend P2 handset is a pretty high-end smartphone, carrying the following features:
# 5-inch IPS display with 1080p resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels
# A quad-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz
# 2GB RAM
# 13MP primary camera on back side (you can also see it in the above image)
# 1.3MP front camera for video calling
# 8GB built-in storage
# A powerful 3,000mAh battery to power everything
The leak also mention about the 1080p display with on-screen buttons, while the previous leak suggested a 720p resolution for this phone. Huawei’s recent addition, the Ascend D2 also packs a 1080p HD screen, while the 6.1-inch Ascend Mate packs a meager 720p resolution. Good to see that the Ascend P2 will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any info on the phone’s U.S. availability details. Anyhow, the closer we get to the launch day of the Huawei Ascend P2 at MWC, the more pictures and leaks will pop out in the coming days. Stay tuned for more information.
