We already reported about Nokia’s press event at MWC 2013 trade show on February 25th. HTC has also announced its is holding a pre-MWC 2013 press conference on February 19th. The event will take place in London and New York on the same date. HTC has also begun sending out invited to the press. The event will start at 10:00AM and ends at 12:30PM in London.
It’s good to see that HTC has decided to hold special events, outside the established trade shows, to unveil its new products. The invite doesn’t give away any specified hint about what exactly HTC is going to unveil next month. The event has been the subject of some announcement rumors of late, and we’ve known for a while that the manufacturer is working n a handset called HTC M7. If recent rumored are to be believed, the handset that some expect to be announced is the M7, which is going to join the 1080p Android club alongside the HTC Droid DNA (for Verizon U.S.) aka Butterfly (for Asia and also known as HTC J Butterfly in Japan). HTC M7 is also rumored to be launched on Verizon, Sprint and AT&T networks in the U.S.
Rumored specs on the HTC M7 so far suggest that it contains the new quad-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.7GHz, and sports a 4.7-inch display with 1080p resolution (1920×1080 pixels) at 468ppi, and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. It will also have 4G LTE connectivity, 13MP primary camera with larger f/2.0 lens on the back, 32GB of internal storage, 2 gigabytes of RAM. M7 should be the first Android device to ship with HTC’s new Sense 5 UI.
So, get ready for another 1080p HTC Android phone and be sure to stay tuned here at Gadgetian for official details and specs as the event unfolds.
