Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Build JDQ9

Yesterday, we reported that over-the-air (OTA) updates have begun upgrading the GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Google Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 devices to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean build, carrying the new build number JDQ39 for every device. It looks like Android 4.2.2 is an important bug fix update that everyone has been waiting for. It has the regular “stability enhancements” and other bug fixes. We heard that a fix has been included in this update to address the bug affecting Bluetooth A2DP audio streaming. Most of the users won’t be able to note the immediately-noticeable changes of the Android 4.2.2 system update.

We just came to know that it also fixes the randomly rebooting issue on Nexus 4 handsets. Here we’ve listed all the changes that are coming along with the Android 4.2.2 system update:

# Quick Settings menu now lets you to long press on the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth icons to toggle on and off
# A couple of new sounds will be played when a device is placed on a wireless charger or when the battery is running low
# Notification for the currently downloading apps will both the percentage of the app that’s been downloading and its estimated time remaining to finish the downloading process.
# Option to display all calls in call log has been removed
# New Gallery app animation now allows faster loading
# A new security tweak will now ask you if you are ok with USB debugging when plugging your device to a PC via the Android Debug Bridge tool. This tool lets the users communicate with a connected Android product using a command line. This tweak also helps keeping your bootloader locked device safe if you lose it.

A new change on the Nexus 7 tablet’s product page on the Google Play Store is also suggesting that Android 4.2.2 firmware update is also carrying improved battery life for the devices. The device has been listed with battery life will last up to 10 hours of active use. That’s 2 hours more than the original battery life of the Nexus 7 tablet.
