If you own a LG Optimus L9 handset and residing in Europe, you can rejoice now. The wait is finally over now. As the manufacturer promised earlier, the patient owners of the Europe based Optimus L9 handsets are finally receiving the most awaited Android 4.x Jelly Bean update. According to the XDA forum members, the Jelly Bean update is currently being seeding out over-the-air (OTA) in Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, France, Greece, Portugal, Hungary, Romania and the Baltics region.
LG has launched the Optimus L9 handset on November last year. It’s good to see that the manufacturer just took four months to distribute the Jelly Bean software for the device. The update is now rolling out over-the-air or else you can also grab the 575MB Jelly Bean update by using LG Update Tool. Optimus L9 owners will need to be on a proper Wi-Fi connection to install the update using OTA process.
T-Mobile has launched the LG Optimus L9 with Android 4.1 Ice Cream Sandwich in the U.S. The mid-range spec’d Optimus L9 packs 4.7” qHD screen, 1Ghz dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 5MP camera to record 1080p videos.
The Jelly Bean buid brings Google Now. enhanced notifications, resizable widgets, Project Butter for better improved performance and smoothness and many more features will be included in the update. Users can manually check for the OTA update by heading into Settings –> Software Update –> and hit Check Now button. There’s no word on exactly when we can expect to see T-Mobile to push out updates for its version of the Optimus L9 handset.
