The Sony Xperia ZL smartphone is now available for sale in the US. The smartphone will be available on a two-year contract with Cincinnati Bell for $250. The Sony Xperia ZL will be launched in the region through the carrier on May 1.
The smartphone announced at CES 2013 sports Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean mobile OS, a 5-inch HD Reality display with 1920 X 1080 pixels of resolution, 443 ppi of pixel density, powered by Qualcomm’s APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset with four 1.5GHz Krait cores, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear facing camera with Exmor RS sensor, a front-facing 2 megapixel camera, 16GB onboard storage, microSD slot to expand the storage support up to 64GB, and 2,300mAh battery.
In terms of connectivity, it supports micro USB 2.0, microHDMI port via MHL support, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, and dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n. Sony hasn’t included IPX5/7 and IP5X ratings for water and dust resistance for Xperia ZL handset, which were introduced in Xperia Z.
You can note that the smartphone is already listed on the Sony Store US site with a “Coming Soon” status and the device also passed through the FCC.
It is worth mentioning that Cincinnati Bell will be the first carrier in the US to carry the Sony Xperia ZL. The smartphone is expected to be carried by different US carriers in the region.
