Since late August, Samsung has been gradually releasing the public beta testing of the One UI 5-based Android 13 build for the Galaxy S21 lineup. First, they released this beta for users in Korea and the UK. Later, Indian users got the chance to grab it. Finally, the owners of the Galaxy S21 lineup in the US are now getting One UI 5 based on Android 13. The list includes Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.
One UI 5 Android 13 beta has already been made available for the Galaxy S22 lineup in early August. According to Droid-Life, the owners of the unlocked S21 handsets are being able to enroll for the One UI 5 beta testing. This build also contains Samsung’s September 2022 security patches.
The update is large in size and the build number of this build is for the Galaxy S1: G991U1UEU5ZVIA. The One UI 5 build rolling out for the US Galaxy S21 lineup is apparently newer than the build released for those in the UK and Korea. There is no word yet when the carrier-locked Galaxy S21 models will get access to this build.
The One UI 5-based Android 13 beta brings a ton of changes to the currently running One UI 4-based builds on their handsets. It brings you more options for dynamic colors and home screen tweaks, which let you pick from up to 16 color themes based on your wallpaper, and 12 more wallpaper-agnostic presets. You will be able to stack widgets that are at least 2×1 in size. You can combine several widgets into one stack on the home screen so they consume less screen space. It also has an improved camera app, Android 13’s notification controls, the ability to pull text from any image or screen, an enhanced taskbar in DeX, easier split-screen action, and many more.
