After much anticipation and delays, vivo is going to launch the much awaited X Fold+ smartphone on September 26. We’ve heard enough about the phone to at least get an idea of what vivo X Fold+ will feature: 120Hz screens inside and outside running on Qualcomm’s chipset. The specifications, renders, live images, and features of the X Fold+ have been leaked in the past for a plenty of times. Today, this device has been spotted on the FCC certification website.
Take a look at the FCC certification for the X Fold+ handset, which has been certified for the Qi Extended Power Profile. Any Qi compatible charger which can output 11W or more will be able to charge the X Fold+ at the maximum level wirelessly. Qi profile is supposed to be supporting up to 15W of charging. Last year’s vivo X Fold shipped with the capability that be chargeable up to 50W wirelessly. So we believe this report is hinting us that X Fold+ does have reverse wireless charging feature, practically turning it into a Qi charging pad at 11W wireless charging speeds.
Until now, the FCC certification does not contain much information about the device. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, accompanied by 12GB RAM with 128GB storage. It will be available in blue, grey, and red colored variants.
It ships with 4,730mAh battery, which have 80W fast charging speeds, an 8.03-inch 120Hz foldable AMOLED screen, a 6.53-inch outer screen, 50MP primary camera, 48MP ultrawide sensor, 12MP portrait shooter, an 8MP periscope sensor on back side, coupled with a 32MP front-facing camera and more. From the listing, it is revealed it has model number V2229A.
Like its predecessor, the X Fold+ is expected to a China-exclusive launch only. Unfortunately, there is no information on this device’s launch in other markets. Nevertheless, we expect that this premium foldable phone will be available in other regions.
