Honor scheduled an event in China today to announce the new Honor Pad V8 Pro tablet. The Chinese manufacturer also introduced the new gaming-oriented handset called Honor 80 GT at the same event. The Honor Pad V8 Pro offers a beefy hardware with premium specifications, including high refresh rate, and IMAX Enhanced certification, and a huge battery.
The Honor Pad V8 Pro packs a large 12.1-inch IPS LCD panel with 2560 x 1600px resolution, 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and 144Hz refresh rate. Honor claims this is the first tablet to feature a 144Hz refresh rate. As mentioned above, it also has got IMAX Enhanced certification that lets users stream content that complies with the IMAX standard. The rear part of the tablet houses a 13MP main cam which can record 4K videos, while the front-facing 5MP shooter can record FHD videos.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 processor sits at the helm, aided by 8 or 12GB RAM and 128/256GB storage. The software side is covered by the outdated Android 12 with Magic UI 7.0 UI on top, which provides smart connectivity, smart services, smooth performance, privacy, and security. Honor fitted a large 10,050 mAh battery with support for up to 35W fast wired charging speed and the charger is also bundled in the box.
The device supports the Magic Pencil 3 (costs CNY 499 (~ $71)), which comes with 4096 pressure sensitivity and 2ms of low-time extension. This pencil magnetically gets charged when you place it on the top of the tablet, and it lasts up to 10 hours on a single charge. Users can dock the tablet to a Smart Touch keyboard dock (costs CNY 549 (~ $79)), which has 1.6 mm deep travel and 15.9 mm big keys. Honor Pad V8 Pro gets the 8 stereo speaker setup tuned by DTS:X surround sound.
