Have you been using a smartphone that is more than eight years old? WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps around the world. If you are an avid user of WhatsApp on your old smartphone, there is some bad news for you. WhatsApp is preparing to shut down the dedicated support for over 45 old handsets from December 31st.
Meta says the reason behind taking this step is that the software version on the much older smartphones is too old, and the app won’t be able to run smoothly. The app keeps evolving, and the company has to update it regularly to keep compatibility with most devices and put their efforts into making the app to get better and much more profitable.
