Along with the vanilla Redmi Note 12 5G, Xiaomi also took the wraps off of the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ smartphones for Indian markets. Both these phones sport OLED displays with Dolby Vision support, and MediaTek Dimensity processor under the hood.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro/Pro+ phones have the same overall design as their vanilla sibling. Both phones packed in a 2.9 mm ultra-narrow bottom bezel, sporting a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with support for Dolby Vision, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1920Hz High Frequency PWM Dimming.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 octa-core chipset is powering both the Pro and Pro+ models. This chipset is built using 6nm architecture, and it has 3000mm² VC liquid cooling heat dissipation. It is a larger VC cooling system than the 2,000mm2 graphene-based cooling system found in the standard Pro edition. The chipset is paired up with either 6GB / 8GB RAM with 128GB, or 8GB / 12GB RAM with 256GB internal storage. Android 12 with MIUI 13 will help to run both these models, while the company pledges to release major Android upgrades for two years, and security updates for four years.
The Note 12 Pro boasts a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS, while the Note 12 Pro+ is the first device in India with Samsung’s 1/1.4-inch ISOCELL HMX sensor with 200MP camera and 2.24μm with 16-in-1 pixel binning and OIS. Both the phones also 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera on their back sides, and 16MP shooter on the front sides. Xiaomi says the Note 12 Pro+ has a 7P lens, and a high-end ALD anti-glare coating which will help to improve.
Charging is also blazing fast at 120W, and the adapter is provided in the retail boxes of both phones. The Note 12 Pro+ has a 4980mAh battery, while the Pro variant ships with a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging that can charge up to 50% in 15 minutes and up to 100% charge in 46 minutes.
