Although Nothing Phone 1 owners have been waiting for the much awaited Android 13 OS update, the company has started rolling out a stable Nothing OS 1.1.8 update for the phones. Last week, Nothing has released Android 13 based Nothing OS 1.5 Beta 2for the beta testers.
For your reference, the Phone (1) is running on Nothing OS, which is a lightweight version of Android with a few key differences between this flavor of Android and the build that is only currently running on Pixel phones, but the experience is almost the same on both builds.
The latest Nothing OS 1.1.8 also brings January 2023 security patches along with various performance fixes. After installing this update, owners of the company’s Ear (1) wireless earbuds will be able to control ANC settings, firmware updates, and more from within the Nothing X app.
Here is the full changelog of the Nothing OS 1.1.8 update:
- The full Nothing X app will now be available in Nothing OS.
- Fixed an issue causing the system to stutter in some scenarios.
- General bug fixes.
This update is currently rolling out for global variants of the Phone (1), and is being pushed out in stages. So, it may take time for the update to hit your handset. This build could be the last Android 12-based updates before we the company releases the stable build of Android based Nothing OS 1.5.
