The OnePlus Ace 2 with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC made its debut in China earlier this month. It was also launched as OnePlus 11R with the same hardware for the global markets. You might already know that OnePlus is working on an Ace 2 powered by a Dimensity chip. Today President of OnePlus China Li Jie took it to Weibo and started teasing the Ace 2 Dimensity Edition by releasing a teaser image on two playing cards with the caption “Ace Rabbit, Ace Two!”
OnePlus Ace 2’s new version is supposed to use the Dimensity 9000 chipset. Though this chipset is from 2021, it is still one of the fastest chipsets around. MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 chipset is built on TSMC’s 4nm node that is still used today for the Apple A16, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and the 8 Gen 2 chipsets. It comes integrated with 5G modem and has one fast Cortex-X2 core with up to 3 GHz, three more A710 cores with up to 2.85 GHz and four power efficiency cores (Cortex-A510) with up to 1.8 GHz.
The Dimensity 9000 AnTuTu scores are also comparable with the original Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It’s worth mentioning that the standard Ace 2’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip is also very much stable, which doesn’t generate heating and throttling, and it will also be suitable for long gaming.
As per the previous rumors, the Chinese manufacturer will swap the 50MP camera (IMX890) of the OnePlus Ace 2 with a 64MP sensor (OV64M) for the Dimensity Edition. Today we also have another leak that purports to reveal the phone’s complete list of specs, giving us a clearer picture of the Ace 2 Dimensity Edition phone. So, the device is said to come with a 6.74″ 1.5K AMOLED punch-hole touchscreen (2772 x 1240 pixels) with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a 64 MP primary camera with OIS- conflicting with the aforementioned info above. The main camera will be joined by an 8MP ultra-wide shooter and another 2MP camera module. It will likely get a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats.

The Ace 2 Dimensity edition will have an in-display fingerprint scanner, improved haptics, and an alert slider. Obviously, it will have the Dimensity 9000 SoC at the helm, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, as well as 256 or 512GB of storage. The handset will run Android 13 out of the box, with the brand’s Color OS on top, and will be backed up by a 5,000mAh battery with 100W fast-charging speeds support. Ace 2’s new version was already spotted on MIIT certification in China, confirming it will get an 80W fast charging tech, that is 20W less rumored 100W charging tech.
OnePlus Ace 2 Dimensity Edition Launch is expected to launch in March in its home country. There’s no word on the price details at the moment. To recall, Ace 2 with an 8+ Gen 1 is now available with a starting price tag of CNY 2,800. It’s unclear as of now will there be a OnePlus 11R Dimensity Edition as well outside the China?
