Apple has long been rumored to refresh the iPhone 15 series this year, which probably switching from Lightning to USB-C, as well as featuring a faster chipset, and of course Dynamic Island (instead of notch) for the entire iPhone 15 lineup, not just for high-end siblings. To recall, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus weren’t launched with Dynamic Island.
Not long ago we covered about the first ever leaked CAD renders, and live images of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro smartphones, and we were sure that we’d see more rumors and speculation about the next-generation iPhones and leaks keep piling up. Today a bunch of CAD based renders of the Apple iPhone 15 Plus leaked through 9to5Mac. In case you don’t know, CAD renders are basically prepared using CAD drawings of the devices that were provided to Apple’s supply chain for device manufacturing.
iPhone 15 Plus will be slimmer than iPhone 14 Plus
Like the Vanilla, and Pro models, the iPhone 15 Plus is also featuring USB-C port for charging needs replacing the old-age Lightning port. Compared to its predecessor, it’s not much of a change, design-wise, though, it has got a new body design with slightly curved edges for a smoother transition from the front of the device to the back.
Apple’s iPhone 15 Plus is expected to be identical in design and feature set to the iPhone 15, and it will continue to include a dual camera setup (wide and ultrawide), and the power button is located on the right side frame, while the mute slider and volume buttons are going to take their spots on the left.
You can observe the iPhone 15 Plus has a thicker camera bump on the back side than its predecessor, but the bezels have been slimmed down. According to the source, the iPhone 15 Plus is said to measure 160.87 mm tall, 77.76 mm wide, and 7.81 mm thick. Last year’s iPhone 14 Plus was 160.84 mm tall, 78.07 mm wide, and 7.79 mm thick.

Specs wise, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are rumored to be offered in exclusive blue and pink color options, and will be powered by the same A16 chipset, which was presented in the iPhone 14 Pro models last years. On the other side, the iPhone 15 Pro is also expected to be sold in dark red color. Remember, the iPhone 15 Plus will probably be unveiled in September alongside the remaining iPhone 15 models or at a possible separate event in October.
