ZTE just set a date for the official announcement of its upcoming flagship. After nubia Z50 launch in December last year, the nubia Z50 Ultra that we’ve been hearing about since the past weekend will go official on March 7 at an event in China which will start at 2 PM local time. ZTE has revealed some key specifications about the Z50 Ultra, and, the smartphone’s been listed on invitation along with its promo material confirming its design language.
ZTE did what other smartphone makers couldn’t do. The Nubia Z50 Ultra has a square design with super thin bezels for its flat display. It has reduced the bezels on all sides. The device also has a flat back panel. Looks wise, it is looking similar to the recently launched Red Magic 8 Pro.
There is no camera notch or punch hole on the display. The nubia Z50 Ultra comes 4th-gen under-display camera, and the company is calling it “NeoVision,” and it is the result of six years of polishing the technology, and has fully improved selfie and video call quality.
As per the teaser images, it features a 6.8-inch flexible flat screen from BOE with 1440Hz PWM dimming and UL eye protection certification. The display has 2K resolution with a second-gen display chip. ZTE claims it will be the most perfect full screen in 2023 with UDC Pro+ independent display chip 1×1 independent pixel driver. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
Underneath the display, the device will have a stacked 16 MP selfie camera with a 6P lens, 2.24 µm pixel size, and f/2.0 aperture. On the back side, it will have a periscope zoom camera. To recall, the standard nubia Z50 as launched with a custom-made 35 mm equivalent main camera with a 64 MP sensor. The Z50 Ultra will be backed up by a 5,000mAh battery.
We will have to wait until Tuesday to know the actual price of the Z50 Ultra and the rest of its hardware details.
