Google has officially announced that its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2023, is set to take place on May 10. The event will be hosted at the Shoreline Amphitheater, located next to Google’s campus. This year’s conference will be held entirely online, where we can expect Google to unveil the latest developments in Android 14, as well as a host of other exciting features and updates.
Hopefully, Google will be releasing more information about the program and schedule for I/O 2023 in the near future. Registration for the conference is now open, and just like in previous years, it is completely free of charge.
What to expect from Google I/O 2023
At this year’s I/O event, attendees can expect a detailed overview of Android 14, as well as several exciting AI-related announcements. On the hardware front, Google is expected to announce the release of the Pixel 7a and provide a launch date for the Pixel Tablet. There are even rumors of a possible unveiling of the Pixel Fold.
Google did not hold its annual developer conference in 2020. The following year, Google hosted a live presentation in front of a smaller audience of employees on an on-campus stage. In 2022, Google resumed its usual practice and held the conference at a larger concert venue. As part of the one-day event, Google invited some developers to attend the keynote speeches in person.
Google has also revealed that the upcoming Google I/O 2023 conference will feature a limited live audience. The event will begin with a main keynote delivered by CEO Sundar Pichai at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. Following the main keynote, there will be a developer keynote, along with more than 100 on-demand technical sessions.
Attendees are eagerly awaiting the return of the virtual I/O Adventure experience at this year’s conference, which was a highlight of the past two virtual events. This unique format allows for a broad audience to participate while preserving the engaging and dynamic atmosphere of a live event.
