According to recent leaks and rumors, Asus is gearing up to launch the next iteration of its gaming phone lineup, the ROG Phone 7, which is expected to come in three variants – the standard ROG Phone 7, 7D, and 7 Ultimate. It has been over five months since the release of the ROG Phone 6 series, and fans of the gaming phone are eagerly anticipating the next upgrade in performance and features.
The Asus AI2205_D, speculated to be the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 7D, recently made an appearance on the Geekbench 6 benchmark database, recording an impressive score of 2,012 single-core points and 5,697 multi-core points.

The benchmark results also shed light on some of the phone’s key specifications, hinting at a powerful chipset and optimized performance. While Asus has not confirmed any details about the ROG Phone 7 lineup.
The Geekbench documentation indicates that the phone will feature the ‘kalama’ motherboard codename, which is associated with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This powerful chipset includes eight cores in total, with three cores clocked at 2.02GHz, four cores at 2.80GHz, and a primary core ticking at 3.19GHz.
Additionally, the phone is expected to pack 16GB RAM, and we may see more storage options at launch. According to the benchmark database, the ROG Phone 7D will come with Android 13 OS pre-installed.
The Asus ROG Phone 7 series is expected to include an impressive AMOLED display with a high refresh rate of 165Hz, delivering a seamless and immersive gaming experience. The regular and ultimate variants of the series are also rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, with the latter offering up to 512GB of storage. On the other hand, the standard ROG Phone 7 is expected to provide users with ample storage of up to 256GB. According to reports, the ROG Phone 7 series is set to launch in the third quarter of 2022, between July and September.
