Oppo has confirmed that its upcoming launch event will take place on March 21 in China, and multiple reports have previously hinted at the same. The event will mark the debut of the much-awaited Oppo’s Find X6 series, the Oppo Pad 2, and the Oppo Enco Free 3 earbuds. The official confirmation also revealed that the event will commence at 2 PM local time on Tuesday, March 21.
The marketing poster of the Oppo Find X6 reveal a leather back and a circular camera module housing a periscope lens. The Hasselblad logo and a small orange dot, both trademarks of the Swedish photography company, are also visible in the image. The Oppo Pad 2, on the other hand, is expected to have a slim bezel, a power button on the left side, and a volume rocker on top based on leaked images.
According to the latest information, Oppo will unveil two models under the Find X6 series, namely the Oppo Find X6 and Find X6 Pro. These smartphones will be powered by different processors, with the Find X6 running on the Dimensity 9200 chipset, and the Find X6 Pro powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. In terms of RAM and storage, the Find X6 will be equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, while the Find X6 Pro will come with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
Previous leaks suggested that there would be a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 variant, but recent reports suggest that this version will not be available. According to a reliable source, Ice Universe, the Find X6 Pro is rumored to only be available in China, in contrast to the Find X5 Pro, which was sold in select international markets.
The Find X6 and X6 Pro are highly anticipated to take mobile photography to the next level. The Pro model is reportedly equipped with a massive 1-inch Sony IMX988 50-megapixel primary camera, which promises exceptional clarity and detail. It is also said to feature two additional Sony IMX890 50-megapixel cameras, one for ultra-wide-angle shots and the other for periscope zoom capabilities, allowing users to capture stunning photos from any distance.
Meanwhile, the vanilla model is expected to have three cameras on the back, each with a 50-megapixel sensor. This includes the Sony IMX890 and Samsung JN1 sensors, as well as another Sony IMX890 sensor for enhanced low-light photography.
In addition to their powerful camera sensors, both models will include advanced image processing capabilities, thanks to the inclusion of the MariSilicon X2 ISP and Hasselblad camera optimizations. This combination is likely to result in stunning photographs and videos that capture even the most intricate details with ease.
Shown above is an official teaser that gives a glimpse of the massive round-shaped camera module, confirming the previous leak that showcased the Oreo-inspired large camera module on the back of the Pro version.
In addition to the impressive camera setup, the Find X6 Pro is also expected to offer a stunning display. The Pro variant will reportedly boast a large 6.8-inch E6 AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and an incredible 120Hz refresh rate, providing an ultra-smooth viewing experience. Moreover, Oppo’s proprietary display technology will enable the screen to deliver eight times better brightness than other devices, with the potential to reach a peak brightness of 2,500 nits. This makes it one of the brightest displays available in the market today.
The 3C listings for both Oppo Find X6 and Find X6 Pro reveals that the vanilla model will have support for charging up to 80W, while the Pro version will come with the 100W SuperVOOC charging technology, a first for an Oppo flagship device. Interestingly, both devices share the same model numbers, with the Find X6 listed as PGFM110 and the Find X6 Pro as PGEM110.
Details on the Oppo Pad 2 are still scarce, but leaks suggest that it will feature an 11-inch IPS LCD display and an 8,360 mAh battery, making it the first Oppo Pad to have this combination. Additionally, there are rumors that the new tablet will be compatible with new keyboard and stylus accessories, and may be powered by a more capable chipset, possibly the Snapdragon 888.
