Realme announced the release of a new SE model for its GT Neo5 series, set to launch on April 3 in China. The announcement comes a month after the launch of the GT Neo5. The upcoming Realme GT Neo5 SE will feature three rear cameras, but will not include the RGB LED rectangle found in the vanilla model.
Realme released a teaser video revealing the GT Neo5 SE will measure 8.95mm in thickness and weigh 193.1g, which is about 6g lighter than the Neo5. The company also confirmed that the GT Neo5 SE will be equipped with the recently announced Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC. The launch event will begin at 2PM local time.
Realme China CMO Xu Qi Chase has revealed that the upcoming GT Neo5 SE features a cyberpunk-inspired design and will come in a color called “Final Fantasy”. The phone also features a matrix camera setup with a main camera boasting an f/1.79 aperture, along with two additional cameras. This suggests that Realme is prioritizing both style and functionality with this new release. We can expect a phone that not only takes great photos, but also has a unique and eye-catching design.
Although the official specs of the Realme GT Neo5 SE are yet to be released, a recent leak suggests that a Realme device with the model code RMX3700, which is believed to be the Neo5 SE, appeared on AnTuTu with impressive specs and a score of over 1 million points. The AnTuTu listing confirmed, 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, 1TB UFS 3.x storage, and Android 13. Additionally, the leak reveals that the phone has a 120Hz display, but the diagonal and resolution are not specified by AnTuTu.
It is worth noting that the launch of the Realme GT Neo5 SE is happening just days after the release of the Xiaomi Note 12 Turbo, which also features the same Snapdragon chip. This suggests there will be intense competition between the two companies as they continue to battle for dominance in the mid-range smartphone market. It remains to be seen how the Realme GT Neo5 SE will fare against the Xiaomi Note 12 Turbo and other competitors in the highly competitive smartphone market.
It’s likely that Realme will release further information on the GT Neo5 SE as the launch event draws closer, in order to generate more buzz around the product. To recall, the global version of the GT Neo5 features a 4,600 mAh battery and supports 240W charging, while there’s another variant with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports “just” 150W charging.
